L.A.S.C. SONG PLUGGER

By Karen Le Van

So you think you've written that "Hit Song" but you're too shy to ask anyone to listen? Or maybe you feel you aren't quite the singer you need to be to get the demo across, but you don't know how to go about asking one of our more talented members to sing it for you on a demo or showcase? Well, if that's what's buggin' you, Bunky, fret no longer -- the L.A.S.C. Song Plugger to the rescue.

In a never-ending quest to give our members what they need, the L.A.S.C. Board of Trustees have come up with yet another job for me -- and I know I'm gonna love it!

Here's how it's gonna work: Prepare your demo as best you can. (I know you feel you don't sing well -- sing it in the bathroom if it makes you feel better.) Hum the melody if necessary. Type or legibly write the lyric sheet, then seek me out at a meeting, or mail your tape and lyric sheet to me. I'll listen to your song and see who I feel would be best suited to sing it for you. They will be asked to give it a listen, and if they feel comfortable with the tune we'll get them to perform it on a showcase or open stage, etc.

If you like what they have done with your song, we may have hit upon the perfect combination of what you need to get a good demo made. (You will probably be charged a fee for performance of your song if you choose to have a demo made, and that can be worked out between you and the performer.)

Now don't send me any songs that aren't ready to be pitched.

We are planning another Unsung Writers Showcase and are also looking for material for that night. So send your demos to me:
