Concertmaster Michael Davis to Perform in the Louisville Orchestra's Masterworks and Cumberland Coffee Concerts

The Louisville Orchestra will perform under the direction of guest conductor Theo Alcantara in concert three of the 1989-90 Masterworks season on Friday and Saturday, December 8 and 9, at 8 p.m. The Cumberland Coffee Concert will begin at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, December 7. Both concerts will be presented at the Kentucky Center for the Arts.

Highlighting the performance will be violinist Michael Davis, Concertmaster of The Louisville Orchestra. Davis currently serves on the faculty at the University of Louisville. Formerly, he sewed as an Associate Instructor of Violin at Indiana University, where he earned a graduate degree. Mr. Davis's virtuoso performances have been earning him recognition since the age of 16.

Theo Alcantara, Conductor of the Phoenix Opera, is hailed as one of the great conductors of opera. Recently, he conducted the world premiere of "Christopher Columbus," by Leonardo Balada, in Barcelona, Spain.
