Greetings Blues Fans:

Here we are in June. The 115th Kentucky Derby is history and the Chicago Blues Festival is just around the corner. There will be some of us from Louisville attending the festivities. I went to the first one, and am planning to go back this year. Everyone, be careful on the road; make sure your journey is a safe and enjoyable one!

We are pleased to announce the election of two new members to the KBS Board of Directors. They are Perry Aberli and Barry Harris. Perry will take an active role in event and project planning for the Society, and has a wealth of experience in such matters. Equally experienced is Barry Harris. Barry also serves on the Board of the Louisville Jazz Society. We are fortunate to have these new additions to the Board of Directors.

The KBS has changed its monthly, regular meeting place and day. We will now meet on the second Monday of the month at the offices of the Louisville Federation of Musicians at 7:00 p.m.

Membership in the KBS, at present, numbers approximately 100, and will probably exceed that before the week of this publication. We have members from all over the United States and Canada. We have also received inquiries from all over the country since the announcement of the Society's founding in the last issue of Living Blues Magazine, and you all are a part of it! Keep the blues alive!

Regards to all,

Rocky Adcock-Amaretto

President
