Cafe Dog, a gallery/cafe at 713 S. First Street in Louisville, has a regular open stage program on Fridays at 8:00 p.m. Performances can be scheduled in advance. No equipment available.

Butchertown Pub, 1335 Story Avenue, Louisville: "SongMarket," an open stage for songwriters, Tuesdays from 9:00 p.m. until midnight. Sign up with host Layton Howerton on the spot at 8:30 p.m. or call (502) 896-8665 on Tuesdays between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.

The Rudyard Kipling, 422 West Oak St., Louisville: Monday-night acoustic open stage, starting at 9:00 p.m. and ending at about 1:00 a.m. In-person sign-ups start at 7:30 p.m. at TRK. Sponsored by Louisville Area Songwriters' Cooperative, hosted by Paul Moffett. L.A.S.C. members get first chance at the 15-minute slots on first and third Mondays (meeting nights). Performances are not limited to original material.

Look for news that David Barhorst will be opening the doors at Tewligans on Wednesday nights for an open stage in the front room of his establishment. There is a possibility that the entertainment will spill outdoors when the weather gives the go-ahead. Alfresco open stage ... I'm not sure, but this may be a first for the area.
