<p class="normalfirst">Appalshop, the renowned Whitesburg, Kentucky-based arts and education center brought a sampling of its remarkable work to the Kentucky Center for the Arts during the week of September 30 through October 7. </p>
<p class="normal">From Storytelling &amp; Music on September 30 through the play "Leaving Egypt" on October 7, the Kentucky Center offered a generous sampling of the kinds of events that have endeared Appalshop to not only the region, but to rural and urban areas throughout the world.</p>
<p class="normal">Other anniversary events are scheduled to take place in Washington, D. C., New York, London and in mining towns in rural Wales.</p>

<p class="normal"> The weeklong event was brought to Louisville with the suppport of the Greater Louisville Fund for the Arts. It was the first event by Appalshop to appear in the city.</p>
