LYO's Symphony Orchestra to Present Classics in Context Concert

The Symphony Orchestra of the Louisville Youth Orchestra (LYO) will perform a Classics in Context Concert at Zion Baptist Church, 22nd & Muhammad Ali, on Saturday, November 4, at 4:00 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. The program will feature Tchaikovsky and other Russian composers.

The Louisville Youth Orchestra is comprised of young musicians who audition for membership. These musicians range in age from eight to twenty-one and live in the metropolitan area. Music Director and Symphony Conductor Daniel Spurlock expressed great enthusiasm for the LYO's participation in the Classics in Context Festival.

Said Spurlock, "This year's Classic in Context theme, the Russians, allows us to perform exciting, rich musical compositions. Our program is challenging for our musicians and will engage everyone who attends this concert. We are especially pleased that Zion Baptist Church has offered us their facilities and we encourage people to join us for this very special concert."
