WELCOME, NEW MEMBERS!

By Diana Black

Three new members helped L.A.S.C. start the new year right. Sally Campbell, Dale Henderson and Mark Sickles joined during the month of December. They are members 281-283, respectively.

Sally Campbell lives here in Louisville and has attended a membership meeting. She has been performing with a folk-rock group for the past ten years while also doing some acting/singing in various musicals. Sally's musical skills include playing the tambourine, among other percussion instruments. Although she is just beginning to give songwriting a try, she would like to find a collaborator. She is currently writing country/pop and children's lyrics. Good to have you aboard, Sally and we hope to get you involved with performing and production in the very near future!

Dale Henderson has an interesting background in the music industry. He has played for the past 27 years with such artists as Mickey Gilley and Johnny Paycheck. After taking time off due to illness, he says he's ready to form a local group to perform '60s - '70s tunes along with some new top 40 and progressive country. Dale plays guitar, keyboard and drums. He is currently writing country/rock ballads and would very much like to do some collaborating. Dale, thanks for your offer to help with accounting, sound and lighting systems and performing. We'll be calling you soon!

Mark Sickles' name may look familiar to you. You have probably noticed it on many photo credits in the LMN. Mark has recently moved back from California (and a little bit of Texas, too) and remains very busy with various photography jobs in the Louisville area. (His photography experience with performers such as Bonnie Raitt probably doesn't hurt him a bit!) Mark's musical background includes: performing on open stages, recording in his home studio, playing guitar, keyboards and harmonica and writing songs for the past seven years. Glad you're with us, Mark.

On behalf of L.A.S.C., I would like to say how important we feel each member is to the co-op! If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at (502) 893-0693 and I will be happy to help in any way I can.

Also, I would like to mention that anyone interested in joining L.A.S.C. or wanting more information about the organization is welcome to call me at the above number and I will be glad to answer questions and/or forward a membership application.

PLEASE NOTE: I would like to encourage all new members to include with their completed application form a separate page with information about themselves that goes beyond the questions asked on the application itself.

Our welcome column is the perfect place to "let yourself be known."
