"MURPHY'S LAW"

New Band in Town Proves Murphy Wrong

By Gary Johnson

Murphy's Law asserts that if something can go wrong, it usually does. Well, this time that is definitely not the case.

The new Louisville-based band Murphy's Law features Mike (the Al Capone of the saxophone) Murphy, a man with a musical background that reads like a Who's Who of the music scene. He has been with such bands as Another Mule and The Mighty Water Kings. Michael brings the R&B sound alive like no one else can.

Blues man John Burgard handles lead guitar. If a fine slide guitar is your thing, then you'll agree that they don't come any better.

Playing bass is Downtown Jimmy Brown. Known to his friends as James, he is one of the best of the best on the precision bass.

The man who keeps it all together is drummer Steve Inman.

The group's sound ranges from Mose Allison and Thelonius Monk to Chuck Berry and the Beatles. Murphy's Law performs every Wednesday at Air Devils Inn and will be at the Rudyard Kipling on Saturday, May 12. June 8-9 they'll be at Hudson's.
