WQMF's Rocktoberfest

WQMF's Rocktoberfest has moved to the Distillery Commons for this year. The annual rocker's bash has regularly booked some of the best in local and touring talent This year the line-up features Spanky Lee, Foghat and Johnny Van Zant, brother of Ronnie Van Zant. Van Zant just had a number one hit on the Billboard rock charts, "Brickyard Road." Other local acts will play during the day and national acts in the evening.

Spanky Lee is currently riding a hot local release, Spanky Lee, which is getting excellent regional airplay. The group is gigging steadily around the region, getting good crowd response.

The current incarnation of Foghat has the original lead vocalist, Lonesome Dave Peverett with an otherwise all-new group backing him. Beside the old Foghat hits, the group will be trying out new material.

The event will benefit MERF (Musicians' Emergency Relief Fund) and Project Bridgelight.
