August Songwriter Showcase to Rock

The first Songwriter Showcase of the 91-92 season will be a rock and country rock show, with two bands sharing the bill.

Tonee Smith's rock band, Nice Guy, will split the show with Charlie Walls and the Silicon Valley Boys, as LASC V-P Jean Metcalfe is so fond of referring to Charlie's sequenced back-up "group" as. Charlie has been steadily collecting sequences of the songs of many members so it's likely that this show will be something of a mix of singers.

Tentatively scheduled to appear with Charlie are Alan Morris on bass and "Doc" Dockery.

The show is set for Saturday, August 3, at the Rudyard Kipling Restaurant, 422 W. Oak. Admission is $2 for LASC members, and $3 for non-members.
