Second NightLights Series Scheduled

The second concert of the 1990-91 NightLights series is scheduled for Thursday, January 10, at 6:30 p.m. at The Macauley Theatre. NightLights is a series of ninety-minute concerts featuring light orchestral favorites, commentary from the conductor, and a pre-concert social hour.

The program, entitled "Young at Heart," will feature orchestral pieces originally written by or for young people. Included will be Britten's "Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra," Ibert's "Divertissement," Tchaikovsky's "Romeo and Juliet" and Gershwin's "I Got Rhythm."

Resident conductor Albert-George Schram will conduct. Appearing on a NightLights series for the first time will be Lawrence Leighton Smith, performing the piano solo in Gershwin's "I Got Rhythm."
