MEMBER NEWS

WELCOME, NEW MEMBERS!

By Diana Black

Five! Count 'em! Five new members were added to the LASC roster during the month of June. They have received member numbers 357 through 361, respectively.

Two Indiana folks, Mark Walton and Mary Washburn, joined early in the month. Mark lives in New Salisbury and Mary makes her home in Jeffersonville.

Mary has attended several of our meetings and is quite anxious to find a collaborator. She is a lyricist who is interested in various styles of music. Those members who would like to talk with her about co-writing may call me for her number.

Good luck, Mary!

Scott Sedlaczek has also attended several meetings and apparently likes what he saw. The first meeting I can remember him attending was a collaboration session. With guitar in hand, Scott fit right in. He is playing the various open stages around town, performing his folk rock and blues tunes. He doesn't want to be slotted into a specific style of music, however.

So glad you're with us, Scott!

Wendy Hilbert joined as a supporter member during our June Showcase at the Rudyard. She and her husband, Jerry, live in Louisville.

Thanks for believing in what we're doing, Wendy.

Ray C. Burden of Louisville has been a welcomed familiar face at the membership meetings. Also a regular attender of the local NSAI workshop at Deer Park Baptist, Ray is a longtime writer with a wonderfully distinctive voice. (Close your eyes and you'd swear you're hearing Ray Price.)

Good to have you aboard, Ray!

Very often new members have questions concerning the organization or the music industry in general; please feel free to call me at 502-893-0693 and I will be happy to help in any way I can.

Anyone interested in joining the LASC or just wanting more information about the organization is welcome to call me at the above number and I will be glad to answer any questions and/or forward a membership application.

PLEASE NOTE: I would like to encourage new members to include with their completed application an attached page with biographical information.

Our welcome column is the perfect place to "let yourself be known!"
