Applications for Whittenberg Scholarship Solicited

Deadline for submissions is March 15

Applications for the Whittenberg Scholarship Fund for Excellence are being accepted at the Greater Louisville Fund for the Arts through March 15, 1991. The Whittenberg Scholarship assists financially underprivileged students, aged 13-25, who live in the Greater Louisville area, in pursuing a career in the performing arts.

The amount of the award will be between $2,000 and $5,000.

Criteria for nomination include: the limited availability of alternate sources of financial support for the proposed advanced study; a demonstrated skill and talent in a performing arts discipline; a commitment towards a professional career in the performing arts; and the quality of the proposed advanced study.

The scholarship was established in 1987. Past recipients include Ms. Cassandra Cherry, violinist; Ms. Vanessa Morris, pianist, and Mr. Jonathan Clem, cellist.
