May 6 – While member Mike Layman has been hard at work using Sheila Davis' Successful Lyric Writing: A Step-By-Step Course & Workbook he's been thinking how the membership could benefit from her observations and techniques. He has planned this evening's meeting to review Davis' book and introduce some of her ideas. The book is an excellent reference for any songwriter, so be sure to join Mike and take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the ABC's of writing!
May 20 – Collaboration session. We had a great turnout and lots of fun at the last co-writing meeting, so we're gonna try it again!
Bring your guitars and electronic keyboards, plus any ideas you'd like to write. (We always have a couple old Reader's Digest on hand to help with titles in case we get stuck.)
June 3 – We are so happy that Jeffrey Lee Puckett, staff columnist for the Courier-Journal, was able to reschedule! He will bring us up to date on the Louisville music scene at this evening's meeting. His column, NIGHTLIFE, appears each week in the Saturday Scene. Bring any questions you may have on what's happening in Derby City.
June 17 – Critique session. Please bring 10 lyric sheets along with your tune on cassette.
