WEL NEW MEMBERS!

By Diana Black

New members since our last newsletter received membership numbers 410 through 413.

Those of us who attended LASC's Christmas party last year had the pleasure of hearing Carrie Stone perform her original tunes along with some holiday favorites. Carrie is a regular at Renfro Valley along with her friend and fellow Co-op member Susan Tomes.

Carrie is from Richmond, Kentucky and has been writing for quite some time.

Glad to have you aboard, Carrie and hope to see you again real soon!

William Rowland has attended several meetings recently and appears to be very dedicated to his writing.

Trained on piano as a boy, violin as a youth and guitar after returning from Viet Nam, William does not feel his writing truly unfolded until he began writing Christian music 15 years ago.

Welcome, William and thanks, for your offer to help with desktop publishing!

Brian Koning learned of our organization through Marty Brown, of all people.

I won't go into detail, but he was handed the LMN because of the Brown article and happended to spot our newsletter.

A writer and performer living in Lafayette, Indiana, Brian is very interested in our active group and hopes of make a showcase in the near future.

Welcome, Brian. We'll be looking for you!

George Thomas Beck, Jr., another Hoosier, makes his home in Floyd Knobs. Tom joined the Co-op during our April Showcase listening session at the Musicians Union.

Glad to have you aboard, Tom!

Often new members have questions lconcerningthe Co-op or the music industry in general; please don't hesitate to call me at 502-893-0693. Or ask any of our LASC members. The very heart of the cooperative is working together and helping each other.

Anyone interested in joining the LASC or wanting more information about the organization is also welcome to call me at the above number and I will be glad to answer any questions and/or forward a membership application.

PLEASE NOTE: The Co-op would like to encourage new members to include with their completed application an attached page with biographical information.

Our welcome column is the perfect place to "let yourself be known!"
