Le Van's Last Blast

By Karen Le Van

Well, I finally did it — I sold my home and I'm taking that big step down I-65 to Nashville. In the words of Garth Brooks' song "The River": "You know a dream is like a river, ever changing as it flows/And the dreamer's just a vessel that must follow where it goes/Trying to learn from what's behind you and never knowing what's in store/Makes each day a constant battle just to stay between the shores./ I'll never reach my destination if I never try, so I'll sail my vessel 'til the river runs dry."

In honor of this move, I'm having my final fling and would love to have my friends who have shared so many memorable Christmas parties at my house to stop by on Saturday, February 8, 1992. 8 p.m. ????, to do it one last time in Louisville.

Don't forget to bring your instrument of choice as well as BYOB (Remember, I'm a struggling songwriter now.)

If you have a gig that night, stop by afterwards. We usually jam until the wee hours.

Hope to see you there. And by the way, thanks for the melodies.

P. S. Come see me in Nashville.
