Pen Bogert played a selection of songs at the March 29 dedication of a headstone marking the blues guitarist's grave in Louisville Cemetery. The ceremony was attended by members of the KYANA Blues Society, the organization which purchased the marker with contributions solicited for that purpose. Society President Perry Aberli paid tribute to Weaver as other Society officers and blues aficionados gathered around the gravesite. Also present was local businessman S.W. Palmer-Ball, who recalls listening to "Syl" Weaver when, as a child, he visited the home of his aunt, where Weaver was a chauffeur.
