Museum of Kentucky Music and Hall of Fame Accepting Nominees

Rosemary Clooney, Marilyn Mims, Lionel Hampton, Tom T. Hall and Billy Ray Cyrus. These are a few of the nearly one hundred names on the master list of possible nominees for the Museum of Kentucky Music and Hall of Fame.

"The first induction ceremony for the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame is tentatively set for May 1993 and we need to complete the master list of all Kentuckians who have made a substantial contribution in the field of music," said Ann Lair Henderson, President of the Museum's Board of Directors.

A daughter of John Lair, founder of Renfro Valley, Henderson said, "Kentucky needs a place to honor her musical sons and daughters ... we don't want to leave anyone out."

Legislators representing each of Kentucky's 120 counties have been asked by the museum board to establish a network of friends of the museum. Mrs. Henderson asks that local citizens, newspapers and library staffs submit the names of those from their county who should be included — composers, collectors or performers.
