A Final Note From the Editor

By Michael Layman

Tim Lynch, Larry Standiford, Charlie Walls and I are stepping down from the Board of Trustees this year. The demands on our time do not allow us to continue to serve with the dedication the board deserves.

I wanted to take this opportunity as editor and board member to thank all those great people I have served with for three years — folks like Diana Black, Tim, Charlie, Karen LeVan and, of course, Paul Moffett and Jean Metcalfe. These are the people who have put the LASC among the nation's best songwriting and newsletter organizations. They would be the first to tell you it couldn't have happened without all the wonderful members of the Louisville Music News staff and all the songwriters.

In the past three years I have watched the LASC's November seminar and showcase become a great event with some very special guests from the music industry. This one event has really catapulted Louisville music into the country's spotlight. I hope that I have contributed in some small way to the growth and success of the LASC during my tenure with the board. I appreciate all your support and ask that you continue to support the new board.
