FUTURE MEETINGS

January 3 -— Audition and Critique.

Reggie Helm will be on hand. Bring a guitar or taped accompaniment and be prepared for a live audition. (See Owensboro, below.) Afterward we will critique as many songs as time permits."

January 10 — Board Meeting.

The board of trustees will meet on Monday at the home of Jean Metcalfe, at 7:30 p.m. Call 231-5559 for directions.

January 17 — Critique Session.

Bring 15 copies of the lyric sheets with your tapes.

The LASC holds regular meetings at the Federation of Musicians Union Hall, 1436 Bardstown Rd., at 7:30 p.m.

Owensboro Connection

In upcoming months, Reggie Helm of Owensboro, Ky., will be hosting Songwriter Showcases at Woodward's Cafe in the new RiverPark Center. The Center is the new home of the international Bluegrass Music Association and Bluegrass Museum and has a new 1500-seat theater and 300-seat gallery.

Tuesday night Woodward's features an Open Mike. Singer-songwriters will perform anything from alternative to bluegrass music. Friday features live bands and Saturday nights will showcase various talents trom Nashville andthe surrounding region.

Reggie Helm, owner of Helm Promotions, will be looking and listening tor Louisville-area talent, at the first LASC meeting of 1994, on January 3. Interested members should make plans to attend.

New Board Members Congratulations and welcome to new members of the LASC board of trustees: Michael Boehnlein and Jack Roberts. We are privileged to have these two tine songwriters contribute their time and effort to the Co-op.

There are still three seats left to fill on the board. Nineteen ninety-four promises to be an exciting year for the LASC. lf you would like to be a part of the action with the region's best songwriters' organization, consider getting more involved and become a member of the Board of Trustees.
