April is International Guitar Month

It's Spring and a young person's thoughts turn to – playing guitar. We decided to see what good deals are in stores around town for International Guitar Month.

Bill Edwards Music has special sales on Alvarez, Alvarez Yairi and Ibanez guitars for International Guitar Month.

Dixie Music Center Ed Hudgins says they're celebrating IBM by giving to guitar purchasers – on top of their "guaranteed lowest prices anywhere" — a free guitar case or a month's worth of free guitar lessons.

Kentuckiana Music Center, New Albany: John Dowell says that they've added Washburn guitars to their line and they're promoting them for International Guitar Month. They've also added a dobro line.

Mom's Musician's General Store: Mark Maxwell has new Parker guitars for sale. Check their ad on page 11.

Music Warehouse: Ray Shipp said that his annual guitar throw is coming up in April. The date was not set as of our deadline.

Pro Sound: Jeff Eiler says they're featuring acoustic guitars, with a particular Fender on sale for $179

Steilberg String Instruments: Jimmy Steilberg is offering half-price restringing of your guitar. He waxed rapsodic about International Guitar Month, but what else would a luthier do?

Willis Music at Oxmoor: Mike McAfee, Willis guitar department manager says that they're promoting two new guitar lines with special deals. Godin, a New Hampshire-made quality instrument will have discounts of 25-40% off. Canadian-manufactured Simon & Patrick guitars, beginning at $315, will also be featured.
