RRote Awards Set for 3rd Year

Ladies and gentlemen, start your cam- eras. The 1996 RRote Awards have been announced. The deadline for entries is November 30, 1995.

Produced by Roadrunner Video and Coyote's, the RRotes are the first and only locally produced music video awards in the country. This will be the third consecutive year for the awards.

The are two separate classifications, Rock and Country, with nominations in each of the following categories: Best Concert or Storyline; Best Home Grown Video; Best Performance; Best Director; Best Overall Video; Best Song; Best True Country; Best True Heavy Metal and the People's Choice Award, which is voted on by music fans.

In announcing the awards, Wayne Jung, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the RRote Awards, said, "We are all committed to making Louisville one of the nation's premier locations for the release of new and innovative music videos. The RRote awards are the perfect venue."

Entry forms forthe contest may be picked up at any area Roadrunner Video and completed work is to be submitted to WAMZ for Country entries and to WFTX for Rock entries.

Prize money for the awards has been increased to $10,000, double last year's figure. Sponsors for the RRote Awards include Coyote's, Roadrunner Video, Miller Beer, TKR Cable, WAMZ and WTF.

The awards ceremony will be held on January 21, 1996, at Coyote's. Proceeds from the show will benefit the Musician's Emergency Relief Fund (MERF).
