Fear No Evil (CMC Intemutioml)
Slaughter

By Kory Wilcoxon

Fear no evil? l believe Geerta Davis' quote from the movie The Fly is, "Be afraid. Be very afraid."

OK, maybe I'm being at bit too hard on Slaughter. After all, you do have to give them credit for artistic integrity. While other big hair metal bands have sold out their sound in a feeble attempt to cash in on the grunge craze (you're a year too late, Skid Row), Slaughter has not strayed a bit from the scratchy guitar sound and leather- throated vocals that made them ... famous? Popular? Are those words too strong?

If you're looking for innovation, song titles like "Let the Good Time's Roll." (not a Cars cover) and "Hard Times" should give you an idea of how much ground is being broken here. Slaughter is Slaughter, plain and simple.

At least the guys still play their music like their heart is in it and it rneans something to them. I hope it does, because they may be the only ones listening.
