Hey fellow metal heads! Hope everyone is having a moshin' 1997!

*Dokken played the Toy Tiger in December. Please see my review in this issue.

*Creed has been getting quite a few shows under their belts lately. They played an all ages show at the Flashback in December and they also played New Years Eve at Bulls Eye's.

Also caught them at a show in mid-January at a new club in Hikes Point called Express Casino Lounge.

Rathbone and Backstreet Law also played that night. The show got a good turnout for a Thursday night. Hopefully, we'll be hearing more local metal bands playing at Express Casino Lounge.

*Please see my review of Creed's new tape in this issue.

*Hope everyone got to attend the Metallica and Corrosion of Conformity show at Freedom Hall.

More on that in the next issue.

* Inhuman has a new drummer, Kevin Davidson, formerly of Stoneflesh.

Rumor has it that Inhuman will be playing a Derby party again this year, so keep your ears open for that!

Kick A** White Trash Hillbilly Music (Independent)
Creed

By Laura Karnes

Louisville locals Creed have recently released their third project Kick A** White Trash Hillbilly Music. Love that title and the tape does indeed kick butt – it straight up rocks!

Creed seems to have gotten heavier with each tape that they have recorded, which is why I like this one. The music is heavier, with more feeling and driving, pounding energy than the band's previous releases.

The tape opens with "Striane" which rages with a raw and heavy sound. Song number two is "Invitro", which features a cool, funky bass line.

The tape finishes with the appropriately titled " #3" and the last song "Cacoon."

Creed's sound is a mixture of metal, blues, and alternative, so their music appeals to different types of fans. These guys are good at what they do and it shows on this latest release.

Pick up Kick A** White Trash Hillbilly Music. You won't be disappointed- you'll be jammin'!
