Louisville's Derby City Chorus took first place in the Harmony, Inc. International Chorus Competition, held November 14 in Indianapolis. Louisville quartet the Diamond Girls picked up the fourth place medial in the international quartet contest.
The Derby City Chorus is composed of sixty women from the Louisville metropolitan area and is directed by Allen Hatton, internationally recognized expert in four-part a cappella harmony. His men's quartet, The Bluegrass Student Union, also won the men's international quartet contest. Mr. Hatton also co-directs the seven-time international champion men's chorus, The Thoroughbreds.
