Hey, Metalheads - Got a little news for ya this month - Read on.........

Hope everyone got to check out all the killer metal shows that came our way in October.

• Fans of the metal heyday will want to check out Motley Crue coming our way November 11 at The Palace.

• For information on shows this month at P.J.'s Pub, please call 368-9911.

• Also, check out the "Unsigned Prime Time Live" shows every Tuesday night at the Toy Tiger. A lot of local metal bands are getting exposure through this.

• Here's a few quickie reviews for ya

Onslaught Bloodgeoned (I Stand Alone Records) Good, heavy local stuff here. Raw with death, growling vocals and cool changes in timing in the tunes. No rap or Korn copying here! Reminiscent of Carcass. Check out "Punisher" and "Midnight Judgment." For more information, contact Phil Stosberg at 8705 Oldbury Place, Louisville, Ky. 40222 or via e-mail at earache777ataol.com or you can call ‘em at (502) 426-6822.

Godsmack Self-titled (Republic/Universal Records) Awesome stuff here coming out of Massachusetts. This CD is heavy with a mixed bag of musical sounds. Each song has a different feel to it. You may have heard the tune "Whatever" recently on local radio, which doesn't do Godsmack justice. There is much more to offer on the rest of the disc. Check out "Time Bomb," "Voodoo" and definitely check out the killer bass work on "Keep Away." Hope these guys will be stopping here on tour.

Piston Number One (Mayhem/Atlantic Records) This one has been out for a little while now, but it's definitely worth checking out. Produced by Josh Silver of Type O Negative. Piston has a heavy modern sound. Check out "Electra Complex" and my pick of the bunch, "Mix Me With Blood" - killer!

That's all for me this time around. See ya next month.

Later!!
