The National Endowment for the Arts has awarded the Louisville Orchestra $57,000, which will support its store-house of recordings made for its First Editions label. Also, The Orchestra recently won the Leonard Bernstein Award for Educational Program.

The Orchestra and its players have a new four-year contract. The orchestra season will be 42 weeks. By the 4th year, full-time musicians' base salaries will be $36,400.

Highlights of the coming year's Masterworks' Program include a concert version of Act I of Wagner's Die Walkure and Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. 30.
