A Helping Hand

"Americans Never Die" (single)

Band of Brothers

By Kevin Gibson

This is a local version of something that is probably to be found in every city in America - a song in tribute to this great country of ours with the goal of raising money to help heal some of the pain for the families of the Sept. 11 victims (specifically AmeriCares' Heroes' Fund).

The radio-ready recording of "Americans Never Die," written by Mark Maxwell and T.T. Bussey, has a definite Dan Fogelberg feel, and appears in three versions on the disc. The main version features plenty of samples from famous speeches. There's also a no-frills version and an extended version that runs almost 14 minutes.
