"Big Band Louisville" TV Show to Launch January 29.

The Roger Dane Orchestra will be the featured act for "Big Band Louisville," a 13-week series of half-hour programs scheduled to air Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. on WYCS Channel 24 in Louisville, beginning on January 29. The program's music will be drawn from several different eras of "Big Band" music, in particular when Count Basie and Duke Ellington were at the height of their popularity but also including more recent works from Buddy Rich and others active in the 1950s and early `60s.

"Big Band Louisville" will be videotaped live at the Comedy Caravan on the third Monday of the month, when the Roger Dane Orchestra presents its regular concert. The Ulrich Production Group, which also produces "Amigos En Louisville," "Coyote's Country" and "Now That's Country," will handle the production chores. "Big Band Louisville" will replace "Mid City Mix," a three-year-old show produced by Paul Moffett, who is also the executive producer for "Big Band Louisville."
