Classic Gospel Harmonies
This release, a follow-up to "There's No Other Way" and "At Home," showcases first rate gospel harmony. Canaan's Crossing merges Southern Gospel and Bluegrass to praise, honor and worship. In 2004 they received a Dove Nomination for Album of the year and in 2006 they were nominated as SPBGMA Gospel Group of the year. No wonder, their singing not only allows listeners to enjoy their musical talent, but also to witness their spiritual integrity.
Highlights include "Do You Know The Father, Son and Holy Ghost" (with noteworthy banjo and fiddle work), "Thank God I'm Saved," a lively "My Lord Delivered Me" and an elegant arrangement of the oft-covered "Amazing Grace" (with marvelous contributions from guests Al Trodder on penny whistle and flute and Damion Kidd on Dobro). The most pleasant surprises were Tina Miller's remarkable lead vocals and her and equally notable fiddle work. The centerpieces for this all gospel project are Miller's offerings on "In Your Own Time" and "I'll Tell It Wherever I Go."
Other band members are Tim Maze, powerful lead and harmony vocalist and solid upright bassist; Junior Saint, mandolin, guitar and high tenor; Andy Wilks, harmony vocals, baritone lead and steady rhythm guitar and Wayne Burgett, banjo and harmony.
The group's obvious love for music and the word of God is evident in this enthusiastic recording.
