Getting Better With Time

Thank You For Caring(Blue Circle Records)
Jeanette Williams

By Bob Mitchell

Thank You For Caring, by award-winning bluegrass artist Jeanette Williams, combines traditional bluegrass and gentle contemporary bluegrass to create an enjoyable listening experience for old and new fans.

Williams' third solo release, a 14- track project, includes songs by some of bluegrass music's most talented songwriters, including Tim Stafford, Brandon Rickman, Paul Williams, Laurie Lewis, and Tom T. and Dixie Hall. In fact, the Halls wrote the title track, a poignant duet with the legendary George Jones.

Williams' original song "Enough of You" garnered the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest award in the bluegrass division at Merlefest in 2007. Especially noteworthy is the fact that Williams is generously donating a portion of her album sales to the Red Cross for disaster relief.

Williams has become one of the most respected female vocalists in bluegrass music and after you hear this CD, you will understand why. It's her best effort to date. She has eleven projects to her credit, including the critically acclaimed chart album Cherry Blossoms In The Springtime. She was also part of the 2006 IBMA Recorded Event of the Year album, Back to the Well by the Daughters of Bluegrass. In 2008, again a forerunner of the pack, Williams shines with "Keep On Walking" on the new Daughters of Bluegrass extravaganza, Bluegrass Bouquet.

First-rate musical support comes from Tony Rice, Tim Stafford, Johnny Williams, Michelle Nixon, Heather Berry, Keith Garrett, Aubrey Haynie, Ben Isaacs, Randy Kohrs and others.

On a five-point scale of excellence this release merits a five. For more information go to www.JeanetteWilliams.com.
